About

Steven AbrianiWeary eyed travelers, Internet browsers, video streamers and all the rest, my name is Steven Abriani and I am a filmmaker.

I was born on October 23, 1992 in Euclid, Ohio and I have lived in North East Ohio for most of my life. I was raised in a Roman-Catholic family, attending both a Catholic grade school and high school. It was in grade school that I was challenged to discover what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, but up until high school I really didn’t have a clue. And then I realized something, after my dreams of going pro in basketball, football, skateboarding, snowboarding, rollerblading and pretty much any other sport you could imagine seemed just a touch out of reach, the one thing that still stuck with me from grade school projects up until I graduated high school was my love for making movies.

So I took a chance attending Loyola University of Chicago to study film production. For four years, I studied the ins-and-outs of film and multi-media production, from traveling to Santiago, Chile to do documentary work, to completing two Independent Studies where I was able to produce my own short film projects, to pitching and writing my own commercials. Loyola’s film department was rapidly growing and I felt strongly that I was growing with it.

I was so involved in media production that I was eventually hired as a multi-media intern for LUC’s universities marketing and communications department. As an intern I was responsible for filming and editing short PSA’s to be put up on the school’s YouTube page. I was also in charge of providing freelance photography coverage of numerous university events.

By the time I had finished my studies at Loyola and earned my BA in International Film and Media Production, I had taken over forty film classes and had been apart of making over fifty films. I also won multiple prizes for media production including runner-up for The Voice From The Margins Film Festival 2015, acceptance into the 2014 Chicago Film Fest, an “Honorable Mention” at the Broadcast and Entertainment Awards, the 2013 Loyola Campus Movie Fest award for “Best Film”, LUC’s COMM Department Award for “Best Narrative Short” and the 2013 Chicago Auto Show’s Video Achievement Award.

I am an extremely hard worker and have a genuine love for filmmaking. I cannot express how much joy and energy I feel when I look at an image through the camera’s lens and see the world in a whole new light. I would be honored and very appreciative if you would consider me for your next project.
